Highly-effective alkalinity(KH)-increasing (Buffer) solution.
Brightwell Aquatics Alkalin 8.3 comes in 250 mL, 500 mL and 2 L.
Brightwell Aquatics Alkalin 8.3 Powder Overview:
Alkalinity, also referred to as carbonate hardness or buffering capacity, is essentially a means of quantifying the stability of pH in a solution, such as aquarium water. In an aquarium, weak acids formed by oxygen respiration and the decomposition of organic material gradually deplete alkalinity. If left unchecked, the alkalinity drops below a critical level and pH begins to fluctuate more wildly than is normally suggested (a daily pH shift of +/-0.2 is normal in marine aquaria), causing stress to livestock. Alkalinity is also depleted by reef-building organisms during the production of aragonite (~60% carbonates by weight), and is therefore very important for their rapid growth. Maintaining the alkalinity in marine aquaria between 7 - 12 dKH (2.5 - 4.3 meq/L) will generally maintain pH within the desired range.
Brightwell Aquatics Alkalin 8.3 Powder comes in 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg and 4 kg.
Brightwell Aquatics pH + Product Overview:
Brightwell Aquatics pH + sizes: 250mL, 500mL, 2L
Calcium, magnesium, strontium and carbonate are the basic foundation elements of coral skeletons. All of these elements need to be available in balanced proportions for positive coral health and growth. Reef Foundation ABC+ is a blend of all of the foundation elements with the addition of potassium, bromine and iodine in the unique ratio required by corals.
Red Sea's Reef Foundation ABC+ is a uniquely formulated powder supplement containing all of the elements of Foundation A, B & C, plus Red Sea's Coral Colors A & B (potassium, boron, iodine & bromine) formulated in the exact ratio as found in the coral skeleton. Although there are slight differences between the coral species, the mean ratio between these elements is fairly constant. Supplementing all of these elements in a fixed ratio according to the uptake of calcium will ensure an accurate replenishment based on the metabolic demands of the corals.
Reef Foundation ABC+ should be dosed on a daily or weekly basis according to the aquarium type and according to a measured uptake of calcium. Over time an imbalance may occur between the foundation elements. If dosing daily, you should test all of the foundation elements weekly and make adjustments with the individual A, B & C supplements. If dosing weekly you should test all of the foundation elements monthly and make adjustments with the individual A, B & C supplements.
Red Sea Reef Foundation ABC+ Supplement (Ca/Sr/KH/Mg/K/Br) sizes: 1kg, 5kg
1g will raise the Ca level of 100 liters (25 gal) by 1.5ppm
Seachem Marine Buffer is the original and still unique buffer with a pH of 8.3, designed to adjust pH to 8.3 and maintain both pH and alkalinity(KH). It is formulated not to disrupt the natural ionic balance of marine water with prolonged use. Marine Buffer contains a natural balance of sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium salts of carbonate, bicarbonate, and borate, formulated for enhanced and lasting buffer capacity at pH 8.3 without sacrificing calcium. It dissolves readily and does not obscure water clarity. The original Marine Buffer remains clearly superior in both composition and performance and is the choice of discriminating aquarists. A 250 g bottle treats 800 - 600 gallons. Marine use only.
Seachem Marine Buffer sizes: 250g, 1kg, 4kg
Seachem Reef Buffer is intended primarily for use in a reef system where the maintenance of a pH of 8.3 is often difficult. When used as directed Reef Buffer will raise the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level. Reef Buffer will also raise carbonate alkalinity. Reef Buffer is a blended product and is not just sodium carbonate. Reef Builder should be used to raise alkalinity when pH is not a problem. Use Seachem`s MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity to check pH and total alkalinity. 250 g treats 8,000 L (2,000 gallons).
Seachem Reef Buffer sizes: 250g, 500g, 1kg, 4kg
Seachem Reef Builder raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. Used as directed, Reef Builder will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder and Reef Buffer may be used together. Use Reef Builder to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH.
Seachem Reef Builder sizes: 300g, 500g, 1kg, 4kg
Seachem Reef Carbonate is a concentrated (4,000 meq/L) optimized blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts designed to restore and maintain alkalinity in the reef aquarium. Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide carbonates (Reef Carbonate) and calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium or Reef Complete).
Used as directed, Reef Carbonate will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3 - 5 meq/L (8 - 14 dKH). Alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 meq/L. 500 mL treats 8,000 L (2,000 gallons).
